Just a little memory

Because Snippy’s little boy has been ill today.. I have had this little memory going round and round in my head of Rowan when she was 16 months old.

She had a horrendous ear infection and had been sick repeatedly since that morning. At this point, she had only been ill for about 14 hours and we didn’t know it was an ear infection yet so we were just dosing her up on Calpol.

We were visiting BN’s family in Hertfordshire and had gone to see his sister whose kids, S (11yr old boy, then 9..?) and C  (10yr old girl, then 7 or 8..?) were absolutely loving seeing Rowan as we hardly ever get together.

(Even now, S has never even met Ella and I don’t think he has seen Rowan since this night.. it’s hard cos we don’t live near enough)..

Rowan absolutely adores older children, was responding to Calpol and was in absolute hsyterics, entertaining the room saying ‘Oh dear’ over and over.

‘Oh dear’ were her first words a little while before .. she suddenly realised this night, while she was so poorly and hadn’t eaten for 24 hours, that she could make people laugh by being silly with words.

And she loved it.

She said it over and over and over and giggled and giggled.

It’s one of my fondest memories of her as a littly.

My little entertainer 🙂
