Who said my kids were telly addicts!!

I got home from work this evening and stood at the door of the lounge (right behind where I took this picture from). It was a full 10 seconds before my children tore themselves away from Peppa Pig to acknowledge my existence … seriously.

About an hour later after demands for Haribo and the obligatory ‘can I jump on you for fifteen minutes and see if it makes you sick’ game that Ella is particularly fond of at the moment and another program came on the kids channel that again made it impossible to communicate with them unless you were a cartoon bear…

I am starting to wonder whether perhaps they watch too much television.

But then … how much television is too much television?

Is it wrong that they can recite the words to 40 episodes of Peppa Pig or is it just the demonstration of amazing memory technique?

Is it a sign of too much tube when they know which program follows the one they’re watching or is it just another example of how well we are teaching them to retain information!??

I mean… I could feel guilty that they know every single character from Thomas the Tank Engine, Wonderpets, Fifi, Lazytown (the list goes on) or I could just be really proud….

I think I may go with proud… because that’s the decision that doesn’t make us bad parents for strapping them into chairs in front of Saturday morning cartoons and taking a lie in….. no…. that’s not bad parenting… that’s revision!!!!

We let ST come into bed with us on Sat/Sun mornings, stick the TV on CBeebies and go back to sleep with ear plugs in šŸ™‚

yeah šŸ˜† we do that too! Let them sit in the middle of us and watch telly and we just sleep – actually… it is surprising the amount of extra sleep you can get with cartoons on…. and then wake up to find them eating moisturiser šŸ˜†
